The best article you will read on India and Indians

Written by HAMRAHI

The famous words of Socrates can be equally applied to news and events of life. This does not imply a paralysis of action in a Hamlet’s conflict. After all the very purpose of consciousness and reflection is appropriate action. I am not reverting to my background of Karma, but emphasizing the western neuroscience view of the evolution of the brain and its raison d’etre.

In assessing what one reads, hears or senses by any means, it is important to be a filter and not a sponge. A living sponge, to give it its due, is merely an indiscriminate absorber, but then proceeds to filter out its needed essential ingredients from its indiscriminate absorptions. Our gastro-intestinal system has little choice but to consume available food, but it then embarks on selective discrimination to absorb vital ingredients and then discard the unnecessary waste.

The kidneys do this in reverse by filtering everything below a certain size, and then redeeming from the filtrate those essential molecules that due to their small size have been lost at the first pass. The very origins of life in the oceans begin by the development of semi-permeable lipid membranes and the sodium pump, to selectively overcome the deleterious effects of osmosis contaminating the milieu interior and keeping it in electrolyte, fluid and pH balance.

On a more mundane note, let us look at some news items.

Every Indian following the news knows that India has carried out three successful interceptions of ballistic missiles in both the exo and endo stages in the terminal phase of the incoming missile.

It is important to note that the interceptions were not carried out in the launch or boost phases which come earlier. The relative lack of admiring reactions by the US, Russia and Israel which have spent billions towards this endeavor, should raise a red flag of suspicion on the part of all chauvinistic Indians jumping with joy and crowing from rooftops. Of course it is a national paranoia of Indians to feel denied recognition purposely, by the developed nations because of racism, self-absorption and a superiority complex.

There may be faint glimmers of truth in the imagined beliefs of Indians, but that should not preclude analysis and examination of the facts.

The US has claimed repeated unverified and false success of its Patriot anti-missile system from the 1991 Gulf War onwards. Those claims have been proved false in the case of Saddam’s Scud attacks on Saudi Arabia and Israel. Later claims in the Iraq war of 2003 resulted in the death of British airmen by friendly fire when the Patriot missile shot down a British Harrier jet.

Israel’s failure to neutralize Hizbollah and Hamas Katyusha rockets is another instance of failure of current ABM technology. A few successes reported by the US from its primitive Alaska based and ship based Aegis systems have later revealed that the incoming missile had a homing beacon which the anti-missile could track to locate and destroy it.

In a real war situation no enemy is going to be stupid enough to bear a bull’s eye beeping, “I am here, kill me”. The enemy could launch enough lethal missiles to saturate the ABM defense or launch decoy and genuine missiles to confuse and overcome the ABM defense. Even a 90% success rate would let ten nuclear missiles through to cause severe devastation.

The monitoring defense system would be constrained by lack of 24/7 vigilance, malfunction and in the case of India, time constraints as Pakistan (unlike North Korea, Iran or Russia, which are far away from the US) is right next door. Finally Pakistan, thanks to China, has cruise missiles which can be nuclear equipped, which travel at treetop levels and can evade any radar detection.

The last nail in the coffin of Indian aspirations is the latest announcement of India signing a 1.3 billion dollar defense deal with Israel’s IAI and other contractors to develop an ABM system for delivery to begin 90 months after the initial payment of 300 million dollars, which will be made soon.

At the same time various Indian defense web sites proclaim that India will have an operational ABM defense system ready in forty-eight months. Doesn’t anyone see the inconsistencies in these two news stories? If we can have our own indigenously developed capable and functioning ABM defense system in four years, why are we wasting 1.3 billion dollars of our precious foreign exchange reserves to get a future system not even on the drawing board now, in seven years.

We earlier bought the Israeli Spyder air defense because our Dhanush anti-aircraft system failed like our anti-tank missiles have failed. Our Arjun battle tank’s failure required us to buy more Russian T-90 tanks and our Tejas aircraft failure requires us to buy the much delayed 126 MRCAs. The real truth is the Indian DRDO is a miserable failure run by inept bureaucrats and mostly useless scientists (with few exceptions) just like most of our government and its enterprises. The delays in our military procurement and their sad litany of bribery and corruption by ministers as in the Bofors, HDW submarines, coffin and other scams is the shameful story of India from the Greek, Muslim, European and Chinese invasions spanning over two millennia.

The newest dilemma, even publicly alluded to by Shyam Saran, the bureaucrat who negotiated a lackey status for India in the nuclear deal at the behest of our puppet prime minister, is Afghanistan. India instead of continuing its friendly relationship with the US, groveled at the feet of “W” and now a tired America is negotiating with the Taliban to extricate itself from the Afghan quagmire without losing face. This leaves India in a total mess. The Taliban and its sister organizations are responsible for terror in Kashmir and all over India, including the Mumbai terror attack. India has spent nearly a billion dollars in foreign aid to the Karzai government which the US is bent on replacing, leaving India with mud on its face.

To add insult to injury, terrorist Pakistan is to receive 15 billion dollars from the IMF and nearly the same amount from the US, to become less of a terrorist.

You got to admire Pakistan’s chutzpah. It is like the Menendez brothers who after killing their parents, got mercy from a US court as they pleaded they were orphans! A spineless India unable to stand erect for its own interests and throws itself at the feet of Russia or America and depends on their mercy.

It was doomed to colonization in the past, is doomed to neo-colonization in the present and perpetual disaster in the future. Its only consolation, of no value, is that mighty America has similar corruption in defense procurement with lying and cheating defense contractors, on whose money the election of its corrupt scum bucket congress and presidents depends. That doesn’t help, as there is no equivalent word in the Indian languages for “schadenfreude”.

My comments SHOULD IT NOT BE HEADED: IMPOTENT INDIANS AND IMPOTENT INDIA

AN ACT OF KINDNESS - OLD BUT A TRUE STORY

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything," she replied "Mother has taught us never to accept payment for a kindness." He said... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt; stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he we nt in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.

She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally, she looked, and something caught; her attention on the side as She read these words.....

"Paid in full with one glass of milk." (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

TINA THOMAS

I studied Sant Mat for three years with a teacher from India who held group meetings on the theory of the teachings. I knew this was the path I wanted, but I didn't know of anyone who could initiate me personally. I wanted a Master in whom I could have full confidence, and I felt it was important that he be accessible to his disciples- not someone I could only see, for example, every five years. But how to find such a Master?

One day I was walking in downtown Chicago when a man approached and asked if I knew where the Bismarck Hotel was. It was nearby, so I pointed it out. He told me he was going to a satsang.

I thought it was interesting that he used the word satsang, since most Americans would not know its meaning. I asked who was giving the satsang. He told me about Sant Rajinder Singh Ji, Science of Spirituality, and meditation on the Light and Sound. I knew by his description that he was talking about Sant Mat, so I asked if I could accompany him. As it turned out, he had his dates mixed up, and there was no satsang that day. I did, however, attend satsang the next Sunday, at the Science of Spirituality Center in Naperville.

Master Rajinder Singh Ji was standing on the dais at the Center when I arrived. To my amazement, when I looked at him, all I could see was light! He was so incredibly beautiful, sending waves of love to the audience. The satsang was on the same themes I'd been studying, and I knew this was the person who would initiate me.

We may think we find the Master, but it is the Master who finds us.

MONKEY BUSINESS

ONCE upon a time the king of a large and rich country gathered together his army to take a far-away little country.

The king and his soldiers marched all morning long and then went into camp in the forest.

When they fed the horses they gave them some peas to eat. One of the Monkeys living in the forest saw the peas and jumped down to get some of them. He filled his mouth and hands with them, and up into the tree he went again, and sat down to eat the peas.

As he sat there eating the peas, one pea fell from his hand to the ground. At once the greedy Monkey dropped all the peas he had in his hands, and ran down to hunt for the lost pea. But he could not find that one pea. He climbed up into his tree again, and sat still looking very glum. "To get more, I threw away what I had," he said to himself.

The king had watched the Monkey, and he said to him- [32] self: "I will not be like this foolish Monkey, who lost much to gain a little. I will go back to my own country and enjoy what I now have."

So he and his men marched back home.

Good Day Brothers and Sisters,
Its Tuesday, 21st July 2009

Hello My dear Brothers and Sisters,

The longest solar eclipse of the century is set for prime time slot
on every news channel since the past couiple of days

It'll start tomorrow on Wednesday early morning here in Mumbai
and Thane (about 5:30 to 7:15 AM is the major time period
for poojas and worshipping) ...

For the religious minded, one is advised to take a bath before the
commencement of the eclipse (say around 5:20/5:25 AM)
and then another purifying bath (still wearing the clothes)
after the completion around 7:15/7:20 AM ..

(An animation of the start and end of the eclipse can be seen here
http://www.shadowan dsubstance. com/)

These clothes are then to be given away in charity ....
Of course that's much easier if you are taking a dip in a river
at a religious place but quite uncomfortable logistics
to implement at home

If you can do this, fine .. otherwise lean on your Faith ...
Hope you have been developing it

The interim time period betwween the two baths is advised
to be spent in pure and spiritual thoughts and contemplation
on the DIVINE ..

For some this is through chanting, for others through incantations

Hindu thought believes that all water bodies become sacred

like Ganga Jal during eclipse and all Men acquire brahmin stature

Hence any action is action as committed by a brahmin ..

Punya karma will accrue many times over and so will the

effect of any bad deeds affect one many times over

A point to be noted is that those who have a small temple at home

(Most hindus do), you have to take care to NOT touch any of the idols
during the eclipse time ...

After the eclipse and taking the 2nd puificatory bath,
donations are made to brahmins, in temples and to the poor ...

Again, sentiment and feelings and cheerful charity
is of prime importance ..

Solar eclipse pits superstition against science

By Phil Hazlewood (AFP) – 11 hours ago

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iJ9tZh4R3FEusQ1C_UQ7jxAyAU4g

MUMBAI — Indian astrologers are predicting violence and turmoil across the
world as a result of this week's total solar eclipse, which the
superstitious and religious view as a sign of potential doom.

But astronomers, scientists and secularists are trying to play down claims
of evil portent in connection with Wednesday's natural spectacle, when the
moon will come between the Earth and the sun, completely obscuring the sun.

In Hindu mythology, the two demons Rahu and Ketu are said to "swallow" the
sun during eclipses, snuffing out its life-giving light and causing food to
become inedible and water undrinkable.

Pregnant women are advised to stay indoors to prevent their babies
developing birth defects, while prayers, fasting and ritual bathing,
particularly in holy rivers, are encouraged.

Shivani Sachdev Gour, a gynaecologist at the Fortis Hospital in New Delhi,
said a number of expectant mothers scheduled for caesarian deliveries on
July 22 had asked to change the date.

"This is a belief deeply rooted in Indian society. Couples are willing to do
anything to ensure that the baby is not born on that day," Gour said.

Astrologers have predicted a rise in communal and regional violence in the
days following the eclipse, particularly in India, China and other Southeast
Asian nations where it can be seen on Wednesday morning.

Mumbai astrologer Raj Kumar Sharma predicted "some sort of attack by
(Kashmiri separatists) Jaish-e-Mohammad or Al-Qaeda on Indian soil" and a
devastating natural disaster in Southeast Asia.

An Indian political leader could be killed, he said, and tension between the
West and Iran is likely to increase, escalating into possible US military
action after September 9, when fiery Saturn moves from Leo into Virgo.

"The last 200 years, whenever Saturn has gone into Virgo there has been
either a world war or a mini world war," he told AFP.

It is not just in India that some are uneasy about what will transpire
because of the eclipse.

In ancient China they were often associated with disasters, the death of an
emperor or other dark events, and similar superstitions persist.

"The probability for unrest or war to take place in years when a solar
eclipse happens is 95 percent," announced an article that attracted a lot of
hits on the popular Chinese web portalBaidu.com .

Sanal Edamaruku, president of the Indian Rationalist Association, dismissed
such doomsday predictions.

"Primarily, what we see with all these soothsayers and astrologers is that
they're looking for opportunities to enhance their business with predictions
of danger and calamity," he told AFP.

"They have been very powerful in India but over the last decade they have
been in systematic decline."

Astronomers and scientists are also working to educate the public about the
eclipse.

Travel firm Cox and Kings has chartered a Boeing 737-700 aircraft to give
people the chance to see the eclipse from 41,000 feet (12,500 metres).

Experts will be on board to explain it to passengers, some of whom have paid
79,000 rupees (1,600 dollars) for a "sun-side" seat on the three-hour flight
from New Delhi.

The eclipse's shadow is expected to pass over the aircraft at 15 times the
speed of sound (Mach 15), said Ajay Talwar, president of the SPACE Group of
companies that promotes science and astronomy.

"It's coming in the middle of the monsoon season. On the ground, there's a
40 percent chance of seeing it in India. On the aircraft you have almost a
90 percent chance of seeing the eclipse," he added.

Siva Prasad Tata, who runs the Astro Jyoti website, straddles the two
worlds.

"There's no need to get too alarmed about the eclipse, they are a natural
phenomenon," the astrologer told AFP.

But he added: "During the period of the eclipse, the opposite attracting
forces are very, very powerful. From a spiritual point of view, this is a
wonderful time to do any type of worship.

"It will bring about good results, much more than on an ordinary day."
*Bangalore's battle between astronomy and astrology over eclipse*
http://in.news.yahoo.com/43/20090720/860/ttc-bangalore-s-battle-between-astronomy.html

Mon, Jul 20 03:45 PM

Bangalore, July 20 (IANS) Even as the world looks forward to the rare
celestial phenomenon of a total solar eclipse Wednesday, astrologers here
say the event could be a bad omen. But brushing aside the fears as
superstition, astronomers are urging people to look at it as a scientific
phenomenon.

Astrologer Daivajna K.N. Somayaji says the war of Mahabharata, World War II
and Indira Gandhi's assassination all followed solar eclipses.

He also believes that during the eclipse, individuals tend to become
hypersensitive. 'It brings phenomenal negativity with it. So the best
solution for people is to do poojas and yagnas or go to any temple to get
rid of it.'

Dismissing the astrological forecast of bad luck, Siraj Hasan, director of
the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), told IANS: 'A solar eclipse
occurs when the moon passes between the sun and earth, thus blocking out the
sun for the viewers from the earth. It's a scientific phenomenon and should
be viewed only in that light.'

A.H. Rama Rao, president of the Bangalore Science Forum, said that the
science fraternity would be using the solar eclipse to dispel superstitious
beliefs associated with the celestial phenomenon.

'Superstitious beliefs have nothing to do with an eclipse. We will be trying
hard to sensitize people on the scientific causes behind an eclipse and
would ask them not to believe in any hearsay. Earlier we used to distribute
sweets during eclipse time. This time it will be hard for us to do so as the
eclipse will be sighted at dawn in Bangalore,' said Rao.

Wednesday's eclipse will be the longest solar eclipse of the century.
Lasting six minutes and 39 seconds, it would be visible across Southeast
Asia and the Western Pacific. The eclipse marks the celebration of the
International Year of Astronomy globally.

Unlike Taregana village in Bihar, where the eclipse could be viewed much
clearer, Bangaloreans will get only a partial view.

In Bangalore, the eclipse will begin at 5.38 a.m. (before sunrise). Hence,
the rising sun itself will be eclipsed. The maximum eclipse will be at 6.21
a.m. with 66 percent coverage, says an official release of IIA.

A bevy of scientists and research students from IIA is planning to study the
eclipse, which wil last till 7.17 a.m., at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden.

A large number of enthusiasts is also likely to join the science fraternity
at the garden, where experts will tell laymen the science behind the
eclipse.

Another group of enthusiasts will also gather at Bannerghatta National Park
to view the phenomenon. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will have
arrangements to watch the eclipse live from 6 a.m.

'During the total solar eclipse, the corona, the sun's outer atmosphere, is
visible, presenting a beautiful sight. By wearing protective glasses, people
can view the eclipse without any reservations as it is a rare sight,' said
Prajval Shastri, professor and scientist at the IIA.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium has arranged shows of previous solar eclipses
for the public from 2.45 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. Monday.

At the same time, various religious rituals are being lined up in temples
across the city to mark the solar eclipse.

Mrityunjaya Japa and Havana, Udaka Shanti and Nakshatra Havana are being
organised at various temples in the city Wednesday.

'We're organising special havan and prayers to avert any untoward incident
followed by eclipse,' said a member of the Iskcon temple.

Many educated youth, including software professionals, are still victims of
superstitions, Shastri said. She cited the example of roads remaining empty
during the solar and lunar eclipses as people believed that coming out in
the open would harm them.

However for those interested in science, the eclipse is a rare opportunity
to study the sun's corona.

'It's sad that in spite of so much of scientific progress, we still hold
superstitious beliefs in phenomena like solar eclipse. The scientific
community and educated people should come together to dispel all myths,'
said Pooja Mohan, an IT professional.

'I and my friends will witness the event and we're waiting to be part of the
rare celestial phenomenon. We will wear protective glasses,' said Deepak
Nanda, a college student.

The yoga guru can be charged against Article 509 of the IPC, say the
actress, who comes from an Army background and can recite

Actress and gay activist Celina Jaitley is up in arms against Baba
Ramdev. The yoga guru, who has petitioned against de-criminalising
homosexuality, recently said the actress had no idea of “Bharatiya
sanskriti” or Indian culture since “she lived away from her parents
and changed boyfriends every month”.

He argued, “Woh toh har mahine partners badalti hai ussey bharatiya
sanskriti ke baarey me mein kya maaloom?”

Celina warns that his words can be deemed to insult the modesty of a
woman under Article 509 of the Indian Penal Code, which says,
“Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any woman, utters any
word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending
that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object
shall be seen, by such woman, or intrudes upon the privacy of such
woman, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may
extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.”

Celina is clearly annoyed. “It is because of self-proclaimed leaders
like him that the whole image of the modern women takes a beating.”

The actress insists she is quite familiar with Indian culture. Celina
says: “I am the fifth generation of an Army family. Many of my family
members have laid down their lives to protect the country. Every drop
of their blood has gone into serving the nation. I have the right to
protect the integrity of the women in India.

- I also won the coveted Miss India title in the year 2001.

- Although I have studied science and computers, I have acquired
almost 80% of my education in Hindi medium from Kendriya Vidyalaya.

- And ironically, I have learnt Sanskrit as a subject till my10th grade.

- I have lived all life in the interiors of India. I am proficient in
five Indian languages.

- I can recite 500 Sanskrit shlokas.

- I’m a yoga practitioner since the age of 14.”

The actress also says that despite her achievements, the great
“Bramhachari” seems to know more about her “sex life” than she
herself. “In any case, I can truly say that he is not a true yoga
teacher,” says Celina.

“With all due respects, just because he is a yoga maestro, he cannot
and does not have the qualification or the degree to diagnose any
illness or disease without any medical background; this would fall
under medical malpractice. He has the right to teach yoga and help
people to use it to their benefit based on prior approval and
diagnosis of a trained medical practitioner, but not to make a serious
medical diagnosis based on religious beliefs and his own personal
perspectives,” Celina adds.

As someone who represents the youth, Celina gives Baba Ramdev credit
for contributing to a revival of yoga but adds that it doesn’t make
him a “Samaj ka Thekedaar”. She says, “These people prefer to live in
a cocooned thought process and don’t wish to come out of it. It’s
people like him who mislead innocent followers into believing in a
wrong image of the modern working woman, who are beaten mercilessly
for going into a bar or a pub.”

CELINA JEITLEY, etc.

Re: (article) Celina Jaitley and Baba Ramdev spar over Sex, India, Sanskrito Culture

Shambhu, (I prefer to know you by your real, Sanskrit name than by the westernised 'Sam') i am not clear about the purport of your msg. Are you expressing approval and admiration of Celina's criticism of Baba Ramdev's campaign against making homosexuality (of male or female variety) legally acceptable and socially fashionable? Baba's specific allusions about her sexual proclivities are not meant to be taken 'literally', but only in relative perspective, as a figure of speech; e.g., his comment: "she is known to change her male friends once a month"....... And what if it is actually close to being accurate, as is entirely plausible?

Her claim to being an ideal, positive role model of Hindu, or even Indian womanhood by virtue of her being able to recite 500 Sanskrit subhashitas or her winning the "coveted" (her own word choice) Miss India accolade in 2001 is based on very flimsy and superficial grounds. She talks about her own feminine modesty being violated by Baba Ramdev's accusation of her libertarian behavior, and her endorsement that other 'liberated' Indian women follow her example in choosing their lifestyle. Is she even aware of a special one-syllable word used by Shri KrishNa in B. Gita (XVI-2) called 'Hree' in characterizing the essential attributes of a cultured (Saattvik) person? This word basically means a sense of natural shame at (and hence recoiling from) indulging in something vulgar or grossly immodest. This attribute applies to every refined person (Aarya-putra) regardless of gender. But it applies especially to a natural instinct among all cultured women. I would be very happy to challenge her on her knowledge of Sanskrit Shlokas, even relatively simple ones. Would she be ready for that?

Incidentally, Shambhu, i am curious to know if she is related to Arun Jaitley, the failed BJP hancho.

FYI Times of India article
And Interestingly I like Celina Jaitley points esp when its a persnal attack on her!
Baba is used to speaking in a Pravachan which is usally not challenged, so sometimes such folks get away with twisting facts or saying inaccurate stuff.
We should work on helping postives rather than promote negatives in humanity.
Let me know what you hink of it- article below

MEGHA JHA, TNN 19 July 2009, 08:29pm IST

The yoga guru can be charged against Article 509 of the IPC, say the
actress, who comes from an Army background and can recite

4Actress and gay activist Celina Jaitley is up in arms against Baba

Gandhigiri Fatwa of Political Rapists

Indira Gandhi' 'Monkey sena' was for getting freedom of India but now Rahul Gandhi wants to convert it in 'Political rapist sena'.

We hear every day about various types of cleric fatwa and terrorists' fatwa. Now Congress inaugurates Gandhigiri fatwa of political rape through Rita Bahuguna Joshi, president of Uttar Pradesh Congress. Political rapist receives O.K. of Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary of Congress.

Rahul Gandhi agrees with Joshi's sentiments and anger:

A day after it seemed that the Congress was trying to distance itself from the objectionable remarks made by its state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi against Chief Minister Mayawati, the party general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that though Joshi's language was unfortunate he agreed with her sentiments and anger.

Navbharat daily reports that Rita Bahuguna Joshi said to rally gathering that you throw these money on their face and said that if rape happened against Mayawati then you give one crore Rupees.

Given the context in which Joshi loosely talked of Dalit rape victims being compensated with money and rhetorically asked whether a compensation of Rs 1 crore would satisfy Mayawati in the event of her facing similar humiliation, Rahul Gandhi enjoys political rape discussion and he comes forward to prove in the defense of Raita Bahuguna that she did not intend to insult the Dalit chief minister.

Gandhism vs Gandhigiri

Gandhiji's three wise monkeys are symbols for ''Speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil.'' This may be called Gandhism. But present Gandhis convert this in totally opposite to that as ''Speak evil, hear evil and see evil.'' This may be called 'Gandhigiri'.

Sanjay Dutt used 'gandhigiri' in 'Lage raho munna bhai'.

http://www.newsanalysisindia.com/129112006.htm

Kamal & Roti are the 1857 symbols. Now gandhigiri is videshi roti & rose of Nehru Jacket

http://www.newsanalysisindia.com/114012007.htm

Prime Minister is silent on political rapists march:

We salute Super PM's commandment

A dutiful loyalist in government (again in 2009)

Secular minority appeasement

Gandhigiri's flowery bombardment

On terrorism Naxal Maoism

We salute you!

On the beginning of political rapes

On the dalits

In the shape of Gandhigiri!!

http://www.thechhattisgarh.com/

Political rape is used to punish political opponents

Rahul Gandhi and his Congress present a very good example of this through Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

There may be four kinds of rape:

Genocidal rape, Political rape, Opportunistic rape and Forced concubine. Political rape is more dangerous among these four. Political rape punishes individuals, families or communities who hold different political views. Here Rahul Gandhi attempts towards political rape though UP Congress Chief Rita.

Political rape is a dangerous kind of psychological torture

Psychological torture through political rape is worse than physical torture. Political rape is more painful than physical rape. Breaking the hearts of dalits through Raita Bahuguna Joshi by Congress is more effective on the soul of dalit honor of dalit than injuring the sensitive parts of the body at the time of physical rape.

Tribute to womanhood!!

Was Sonia right to say that her selection of Pratibha as a President of India means tribute to womanhood ? Why Sonia is silent on Rahul's O.K. on Raita's statement?

http://www.newsanalysisindia.com/107092007.htm

Pt Nehru to Manu (son of former congress minister) and Tandoor Sharma are symbols of "A tribute to the womanhood". Besides the CIA documents, disclosure of Pamela Mountbatten's about the love affairs of her mother Edwina Mountbatten with Pt Nehru was the beginning of giving tribute to womanhood which still Congress follows.

http://newsanalysisindia.com/130062007.htm

Sonia Gandhi's sponsored women leader faces

Honorable Pratibha Patil as president is the invention of Sonia Gandhi.

Lok Sabha speaker Meera Kumar, daughter of former Dalit leader Jagjivan Ram is the latest invention of Sonia Gandhi. What did she for the benefit of dalits? She is silent on this issue. Though there is uproar in the lok Sabha.

.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on July 17, 09 described as "unfortunate" the comments by Uttar Pradesh unit Chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi against Chief Minister Mayawati but criticized her fetish for installing statues while ignoring development.

Sonia Gandhi inaugurated Mumbai-Worli-Sea-Link on June 30, 09 to give its name Rajiv Gandhi Setu. Why not Kalgidhar Setu instead of Rajiv Gandhi Setu : http://www.newsanalysisindia.com/post/Kalgidhar-Setu-instead-of-Rajiv-Gandhi-Setu.aspx

How many roads, bridges and other government places are in the name of Nehru-Gandhis? What is the difference between Maya and Gandhis?

Rita Bahuguna vs Varun Gandhi

Priyanka and her brother Rahul Gandhi wanted to teach Varun Gandhi on his speech at Pilibhit. Why they forget to teach Rita Bahuguna Joshi, president of Uttar Pradesh Congress on her remarks

Chidambaram has a soft corner in his heart for gays. Gay pride becomes UPA pride. http://www.newsanalysisindia.com/post/U-S-Gay-pride-UPA-pride.aspx

Is this coincidence that woman leader Rita Bahuguna politically rapes another woman leader Mayawati?

SCENE 1

This is a new one.

People sure stay busy trying to cheat us, don't they?

A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought to himself,
'Funny, I thought I locked the locker.

Hmm, 'He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in order.

Everything looked okay - all cards were in place.

A few weeks later his credit card bill came - a whooping bill of £14,000!

He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he did not make the transactions.

Customer care personnel verified that there was no Mistake in the system and asked if his card had been stolen.

'No,' he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep - you guessed it - a switch had been made.

An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet.

The thief broke into his locker at the gym and switched cards.

Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them.

How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy?

£9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped?

Small amounts rarely trigger a 'warning bell' with some credit card companies.

It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one!

SCENE 2

A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card..

The bill for the meal came, he signed it, and the waitress folded the receipt and passed the credit card along.

Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket.

Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was the expired card of another person.

He called the waitress and she looked perplexed.

She took it back, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the watchful eye of the man.

All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired card to the counter cashier, and the counter cashier immediately looked down and took out the real card.

No exchange of words --- nothing!

She took it and came back to the man with an apology.

Verdict:

Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours..

Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is taken away for even a short period of time.

Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it, 'assuming' that it has to be theirs..

SCENE 3

Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called in.

I paid by using my Visa Check Card which, of course, is linked directly to my checking account.

The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it on the counter as he waited for the aproval, which is pretty standard procedure.

While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing.

I noticed the phone because it is the same model I have, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone sounds when I take a picture.

He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still pressing buttons.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to what was really going on.

It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I'm paying close attention to what he is doing.

He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open.

About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has been saved.

Now I'm standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a picture of my credit card.

Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone, I probably would never have known what happened.

Needless to say, I immediately cancelled that card as I was walking out of the pizza parlour.

All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Whenever you are using your credit card take caution and don't be careless.

Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card.

Be aware of phones, because many have a camera phone these days.

Never let your card out of your sight.......
check and check again!

A lady in a faded grey dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun suit walked in timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods , country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Harvard.

"We want to see the President "the man said softly.
"He'll be busy all day "the secretary snapped.
"We'll wait" the lady replied.
For hours the secretary ignored them , hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away. They didn't and the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president..
"Maybe if you see them for a few minutes , they'll leave" she said to him. The President , stern faced and with dignity , strutted toward the couple.
The lady told him "We had a son who attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago , he was accidentally killed.. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him , somewhere on campus."
The president wasn't touched....He was shocked. "Madam "he said , gruffly , " we can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did , this place would look like a cemetery."

"Oh , no , " the lady explained quickly "We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit , and then exclaimed , "A building ! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical buildings here at Harvard."
For a moment the lady was silent. The president was pleased. Maybe he could get rid of them now. The lady turned to her husband and said quietly , "Is that all it costs to start a university ? Why don't we just start our own?"
Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford got up and walked away , traveling to Palo Alto , California where they established the University that bears their name. Stanford University , a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

Most of the time we judge people by their outer appearance , which can be misleading.. And in this impression , we tend to treat people badly by thinking they can do nothing for us. Thus we tend to lose our potential good friends , employees or customers.
Remember
In our Life , we seldom get people with whom we want to share & grow our thought process. But because of our inner EGO we miss them forever.

It is you who have to decide with whom you are getting associated in day to day life.

I end this beautiful story with a note:

Small people talk about others ,

Average people talk about things ,

Great people talk about ideas.

AT LEAST 12 HINDUS KILLED BY RADICAL ISLAMISTS IN INDIA ON JULY 10TH

MAJOR COMMUNAL RIOT IN MURSHIDABAD, 12 HINDU DEAD, HUNDREDS INJURED INCLUDING ONE DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE
Today, 10th July, a major communal riot broke in Murshidabad district. Till now 12 persons dead, most of them Hindus, hundreds injured including 10 policemen and one D.S.P. rank police officer. Two village markets and hundreds of Hindu houses were looted and burnt. Firing between police and Muslim rioters still going on at 11.30 night. Curfew imposed in the whole area. BSF and CRPF deployed to help police and RAF.

Perhaps the whole incident planned to welcome the proposed Aligarh Muslim University Campus in this district.

Jhaubona High School is a big higher secondary school in Jhaubona village under Nawda polie station in Beldanga sub division in Murshidabad district. Among total 1000 students of this school, about 50% are Muslim students. For long they were demanding to offer Friday Namaz inside the school. But school management and the Hindu students resisted it apprehending that it will create a virtual mosque inside the school. So, the furious Muslim students made objection against Saraswati Puja in the school and the school management has been compelled to stop Saraswati puja last year in the school. In spite of that, the Muslim students were not satisfied. So they planned to offer Friday Namaz today (10 July) by force inside the school without any permission from Head Master or School Management. Hindu students protested and altercation started at 12 noon between two groups of students. Muslims were prepared. Through cell phone they spread the false message that Hindu students attacked Muslim students in the school. Within 10-15 minutes, thousands of Muslims led by the students of nearby Trimohini Madrasa rushed to the school. They attacked the school students, the big village market of Trimohini, and two Hindu villages Jhaubona and Trimohini. Many Hindu shops in the Trimohini market were burnt and looted. Many Hindu houses were burnt and looted in the villages Jhaubona and Garapara. In one house 4 Hindus died in the fire including one father and his daughter were burnt alive.

Till now, according to our sources, 12 Hindus are dead, more than one hundred injured, though the district administration will surely give a lesser number.

Many are missing. Nobody knows how many of the missing persons are already dead.

Police and RAF could not control the situation. So, BSF and CRPF are called in. Till evening, police fired 250 rounds. 10 policemen were injured, among them condition of 4 are very serious. One D.S.P. is seriously injured. He has been admitted in a private nursing home to avoid media scrutiny. On the road at Begunbari village, Muslims burnt 2 buses and one matador. One Tata Sumo car and its passengers were attacked. The broken car and its passengers have been brought to Beldanga Bharat Sevashram Sangha for their safety.

The injured persons have been admitted to Baharampur and Amtala hospitals. Till mid night, firing was going on between Muslim rioters and security forces at Trimohini bazaar.

As usual, the electronic media/ TV channels are silent and totally blacked out this major incident.

Murshidabad district is a Muslim majority distrct. All the 3 police stations in Beldanga sub division – Beldanga, Nawda and Hariharpara – are Muslim majority. This is a border sub division. All the Hindu villages under Nawda and Hariharpara p.s. are awake tonight. They are scared of possible Muslim attack upon their villages.

In sub divisional town Beldanga, in evening Muslims gathered in front of Congress office. Hindus are fearing that the famous Bharat Sevashram Sangha, whose President highly revered Swami Pradiptanandaji (Kartik Maharaj) may be attacked by communal Muslims. Swamiji is now away from Ashram. He went pilgrimage to Mansarovar-Kailas. He is expected to return in 5-6 days.

India’s Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has been elected from this Murshidabad district. As a gratitude to the Muslims of this district, he announced in his finance Budget in parliament that he would allocate a huge sum of money to establish a campus of Aligarh Muslim University in this district. This Aligarh Muslim University spearheaded the separatist movement for creation of Pakistan in pre 1947 years.

43. Love is Supreme

Love is Supreme. Develop love in your hearts. Let love flow through every part of your being. Make love the reigning principle of your life. Develop love through love. This was the prayer that went forth from the hearts of Gopikas: "Oh Krishna, play on your flute so that our parched hearts may be flooded with your nectarine love and we may be filled with love in all that we think and do. Plant the seeds of love in our arid hearts so that the saplings of love may sprout and grow." To experience this joy, you have to develop firm faith in God and shed all fear. Cultivate Divine Love and experience this joy. Sanctify your lives by dedicating it to the Divine.

To cultivate devotion to God, always endeavor to mix with good persons, engage yourselves in chanting the Names of the Lord, and be thrilled with the joy that wells up in you. Why do you waste time or even pollute it by talking ill of others? The eye, the hands, the nose, the head, the stomach, etc. each look different. Each does one special task, and has a different name and function. But they subserve the interest of one body to which they belong; they do not work at cross-purposes, do they? So too, each of you is a limb in the body called society. Do your work without a murmur, work in co-operation with all. Then the society will be healthy and happy. Love, Love alone can bind you to others and to God. God is the very embodiment of Love.

Dear friends and devotees,
Bhakti is eternal.
The 1000 Names of the Vishnu sahasranama
The legend would have it that at the end of the epic Mahabharata war, Bhishmacharya was awaiting the sacred hour to depart from his physical body unto the lotus feet of the Lord. Yudhishtira, the eldest of the Pandavas, was desperately looking for the answers to matters relating to Dharma and Karma. Lord Krishna, who understood Yudhistira´s uneasy mind, guided him to Bhishma to learn insight in to this precious knowledge. It is relevant to mention that Bhishma was acknowledged to be one of the twelve most knowledgeable people. The other eleven being Brahma , Narada , Siva , Subramanya , Kapila , Manu , Prahlada , Janaka , Bali, Suka and Yama .
At their meeting, Yudhistira presented Bhishma with six questions.
1. kimEkam daivatam lokE?
Who is the greatest Lord in the world?
2. kim vaapyEkam paraayaNam?
Who is the one refuge of all?
3. stuvantam kam praapnuyuh maanavah subham?
By glorifying whom, can man attain peace and prosperity?
4. kam arcanat praapnuyuh maanavaah subham?
By worshipping whom can man reach auspiciousness?
5. kO dharmah sarva dharmaaNaam bhavatah paramO matah?
What is, in thy opinion, the greatest Dharma?
6. kim japam mucyatE jantur janma samsaara bandhanaat?
By doing Japa of what, can creature go beyond the bonds and cycle of birth and
death?
Bhishma responded by reciting the one thousand names now hailed as the Vishnu Shasranama, and reminded him that either by meditating on these names or by invoking the names through archana (Offering), our minds can be lifted to higher consciousness.
Indeed, such long recital of namaas glorifying the Lord and His splendor is rare in the world. Yet a rational person is apt to question how mere words and their repetition can create such great power. Just imagine for a moment that you are in an assembly, and the lecturer begins his talk with the word "boat". You can at one grasp the image of a boat, and there is calmness of mind. Suddenly then, if someone in the assembly, utters the word "snake", will your calmness continue? It therefore follows that vak (utterance) and artha (meaning) together infuse a subtle energy either positively or negatively. The thousand naamas are storehouses of proven spiritual content that can easily uplift our minds. Indeed the expression NaMa is made up of Na for Naramandala and Ma for manas, our Mind. NaMa, the chanting of which helps to unite our nervous system and Mind.
The main body of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama consists of 107 stanzas which contain the one thousand names of Sri Maha Vishnu. Every one of the one thousand names is full of significance and refers to one particular guna (quality, characteristic, or attribute) of Paramatma. These names invoke a sense of bonding with the Lord. The meanings of the names give us an understanding and depth of God as there is a deep connection between the name and the named.
Why were these 1000 names chosen?
Does the Lord get absolutely defined by these one thousand names? The Vedas affirm that God is neither accessible to words nor to mind. It is said that you cannot comprehend the Paramatma with the human mind alone, even if you spend all your life trying! Given this infinite nature of the Paramatma, who is not governed or constrained by any of the physical laws as we know them, the choice of a thousand names of Vishnu by Bhishma should be recognized as a representation of some of his better known qualities that are repeatedly described in our great epics.
Some might say that they do not understand the meaning of the Sanskrit words, and therefore do not feel comfortable chanting them. But learning the chanting of prayers even without knowing the meaning is a worthwhile act, and can be compared to finding a box of treasure without the key. As long as we have the box, we can open it whenever we get the key of knowledge later. The treasure will be there already.
Others might feel that they do not know the correct Sanskrit pronunciation, and do not want to chant incorrectly. There is an analogy of a mother to whom a child goes and asks for an orange. The child does not know how to pronounce the word "orange" and so asks for "ange". The mother does not turn away the child and does not refuse to give the child the orange just because the child does not know how to pronounce the word. It is the bhaava (spirit) that matters, and so as long as one chants the name of God with sincerity, considerations such as not knowing the meaning, not knowing the pronunciation, etc, do not matter, and God will confer His blessings on us, there is no way a devotee of Vishnu can meet with any dishonor or disgrace of any kind.
Phala Sruti - The Benefits:
Traditionally our prayers end with a phala sruti - a section on the benefits of reciting the prayer. The Vishnu Sahasranama is no exception.
The necessity of cleansing our body regularly to maintain hygiene and good health is recognized by everyone. But with the busy nature of today´s world, we do not see our mind the same way as we see our body. As a consequence, the need for keeping our minds clean is not appreciated.
Those who do not cleanse their mind on a regular basis become mentally ill over a period of time. Prayers are a means to mental cleansing when they are chanted with sincerity and devotion. The importance of chanting Sri Vishnu Sahasranama is that the deity being worshiped is none other than Vasudeva. Sri Vedavyasa, who was responsible for stringing the naamas together in a poetic form, points out that it is by the power and command of Vasudeva that the Sun, the Moon, the stars, the world and the oceans are controlled. The whole universe of the Gods, Asuras and Gandharavas is under the sway of Lord Krishna. In Bhishma´s expert judgment, chanting Vasudevas´s name with devotion and sincerity will ensure relief from sorrows and bondage. The person who recites is not the only one who benefits, but also those who for whatever reason are unable to chant benefit by just hearing the chanting as well.
(In consideration to Lord´s endearment on those who surrender to HIM, in Gajendramoksham of Bhagavatha Puranam)
With love and regards,
Sastry

On Equanimity
Nowadays there is very good discussions going on related to Equanimity. One must behave with equanimity with all - such publicity is going around. But in reality, what exactly is called "Equanimity" and how does one become equanimous - it is essential to understand this.
Equanimity is not an ordinary thing, rather it is evidential form (sakshaat swaroop) of Paramatma (God) . He whose mind becomes established in equanimity, attains victory over the world, while living in it, and thus experiences the Supreme Reality (ParaBrahma Paramatma). This equanimity comes when other's sorrows becomes our sorrow, and when other's happiness becomes our happiness. In Gita, Bhagwaan says -
"Aatmoupamyena sarvatra samam pachyati yorjuna |
sukham vaa yadi va dukham sa yogi paramo matah || (Gita 6/32)
"O' Arjuna ! That man who like his body, sees the same everywhere, and sees happiness and unhappiness the same everywhere, that Yogi is understood to be best of all."
Just like when there is pain in any part of the body then there is longing and effort to try to get rid of that pain, similarly when any being undergoes sorrow, grief, suffering etc. then with equal intentness, when one tries to put effort towards removing the suffering, then one attains equanimity. It has also been observed in the behavior of saints -
"Per dukh dukh sukh sukh dekhe per." (Manas 7/38/1)
As long as there is longing for one's own happiness, till then however much effort you put, equanimity will not arise. But once when from one's very heart there is the intense drive and longing that how can others become happy? How can they get rest and relaxation? How can they benefit? How can they attain salvation? Then equanimity will come naturally, on it's own.
This must first begin at home. There must be the inner sentiment that let not a single being ever suffer or experience any difficulties in the least bit. Let no one ever lose their faith. However much of difficulty I undergo, let my mother-father, wife-children, brother and brother-in-law etc. remain happy. By making our family members happy, with certainty we will attain peace. Where the relationship is outside our immediate family, there if you make someone happy, then extraordinary joy will start flowing.
However, by giving happiness out of attachment, one will not progress. Therefore, wherever there is no attachment there give happiness, or get rid of your attachment while giving happiness to those you are attached to - both these will result in one and the same.
Goswami Tulasdasji says about the way Lakshmanji serves Bhagwaan Ram and Sitaji in Chitrakoot.
"Sevahin lakhanu siye raghubeerahi |
Jimi abibeki purush sareerahi || (Manas 2/142/1)
Lakshmanji serves Bhagwaan Ram and Sitaji in the same way as an ignorant person serves (cares for) his body. To serve the body, to give it happiness is not wisdom. Even the animals serve their bodies. Just like a female monkey is so attached to her child that even if the baby monkey dies, she carries the dead child around everywhere. She does not leave it. But if she gets food then she eats herself first and beyond that she does not allow the baby monkey to eat. If the baby monkey tries to eat, she threatens and beats him, till he screams and runs away. Therefore when there is attachment, it is impossible to be equanimous.

ख़ुद को जला रहे है
आब क्या करे उम्मीद की इस

चंध ख़ुशियो के सहारे
